Environmental assessment registry documents pertaining to the proposed St. Mary River Irrigation District Chin Reservoir Expansion project. Chin Reservoir is an off-stream storage reservoir that is located roughly in the middle of St. Mary River Irrigation District (SMRID) irrigation network, approximately 30 kilometers (km) east of Lethbridge and 15 km south of Taber. The Chin Reservoir Expansion Project (the Project) involves the construction of a new dam which would result in a larger reservoir. The new dam would be approximately 40 meters (m) in height and is expected to inundate (flood) approximately 650 hectares (ha) of privately held land within Chin Coulee. Description

Alberta's fisheries cumulative effects modelling approach (Joe model) was used to assess the threats to bull trout in four Clearwater River watersheds (Rocky, Elk, Cutoff and Limestone creeks). The bull trout Joe model is a semi-quantitative cumulative effects model that combines 18 different threats and was populated with data specific for each of the four watersheds. This report documents the rationale for the relationship between the modelled stressors and predicted bull trout system capacity (stressor-response curves), describes the data used to populate the stressor input values, and provides a short summary of stressors and model outputs for each of the four study watersheds.

The proposed passenger aerial gondola would connect the base area of the Silvertip Resort to an upper terminal on the summit ridge of Mount Lady MacDonald, via a mid-station integrated with the Silvertip Resort Village. The Alberta Vegetation Inventory (AVI) is a standardized digital forest inventory product that is used to spatially identify the type, extent and condition of forest vegetation. The AVI is also a detailed, spatially-explicit standard to assist in the decision-making process for forest management planning, wildfire management, wildlife habitat classification, ecological classification and integrated resource management activities. The establishment of AVI standards helps ensure data quality, consistency, and compatibility with Government of Alberta forest inventory database architecture, as the responsibility to acquire AVI data is shared between forest management agreement holders and the Province.

This quantification protocol is written for the oil and gas industry where methane that is normally vented is capture and either conserved or combusted to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The protocol provides a methodology to quantify the greenhouse gas emission reductions from capturing vented methane. Since methane has a much higher global warming potential than carbon dioxide this protocol has the potential to enable project developers to achieve significant reductions and generate emission offsets.
